A Local Treasure for Every Season

When people think about what makes Northwest Arkansas such a wonderful place to call home, it's not just the thriving job market or beautiful neighborhoods—it's the incredible community spaces that bring people together. This week's Local Highlight is one of Fayetteville's most treasured destinations: the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

Located at 4703 N. Crossover Road in Fayetteville, the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is a stunning 42-acre nonprofit public garden dedicated to environmental education, conservation, and creating meaningful connections with nature. Open Friday through Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed Thursdays), the garden offers a peaceful escape for visitors of all ages.

Whether you're looking for a relaxing afternoon stroll, a fun family outing, or simply a quiet place to recharge, the Botanical Garden has something for everyone. Guests can wander through 12 beautifully designed themed gardens, explore Arkansas's only butterfly house, and enjoy the changing colors and blooms throughout every season. Conveniently located just off the Razorback Greenway, it's an easy stop for cyclists, walkers, and anyone wanting to experience one of Fayetteville's hidden gems.

More Than Just a Garden

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is more than a beautiful destination—it's a community resource. As a member-supported nonprofit, every visit, membership, donation, and purchase helps preserve the gardens while supporting educational programs and environmental initiatives throughout Northwest Arkansas.

Looking to make your visit even more enjoyable? On Fridays through Sundays from 12:00 PM to 4:15 PM, guests can purchase a selection of beer and wine to enjoy while relaxing among the gardens. It's the perfect way to slow down, appreciate nature, and support this incredible local organization at the same time.

Exciting Events Coming Up

The Botanical Garden hosts events throughout the year that bring the community together in unique ways.

Yoga in the Garden returns on Saturdays during October, offering peaceful outdoor classes led by instructors from Fayetteville Athletic Club. Even better, this year's sessions are free for non-members, making it an easy way to enjoy the fresh air while starting your weekend on a positive note.

Later this fall, mark your calendar for the Autumn Gala at the Garden on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 PM. Inspired by the beauty of the Japanese Garden, the evening features an elegant dinner, live music, a curated auction, and the presentation of the Garden's Evergreen Award—all while raising support for one of Northwest Arkansas's most beloved nonprofits.

Planning a wedding? The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is also one of the area's most picturesque wedding venues. Couples can exchange vows surrounded by colorful blooms and beautifully landscaped gardens, creating an unforgettable setting for their special day.
